===== Add disk to LVM volume =====

Create a new physical volume on the new disk:

sudo pvcreate /dev/vdb
sudo lvmdiskscan -l
</code>

Add the newly created physical volume to an existing logical volume:

<code bash>
sudo vgextend almalinux /dev/vdb
</code>

Extend the ''%%/dev/almalinux/root%%'' to create a total 1000GB:

<code bash>
sudo lvm lvextend -l +100%FREE /dev/almalinux/root
</code>

Grow the filesystem of the root volume:

<code bash>
# ext4
sudo resize2fs -p /dev/mapper/almalinux-root

# xfs
sudo xfs_growfs /
</code>
